Where to begin....

I just took a tour of my past posts, and it has been a while. A lot has gone on since I last posted, and perhaps this will be the start of a new chapter and I will post more regularly. No promises, that is for sure!

We moved in late June to Winchester, Jim was denied social security disability, and I was passed over for a field manager position. Over all, life is great! Jim had his knee scoped, and nothing can really be done for 10-15 years since he is still so young.

Brett was talking tonight about moving out and renting a townhouse with his friend. I think it is a good idea, everyone should move out when they can and be responsible for themselves. Leslie is pretty capable, and I know Brett will be too. Jim will miss him, as will I, but it will be closer to his employment and makes perfect sense. Someday I'd like to see him buy a place, all in good time!

Stephanie did a ten week internship at church for the children's ministry. We had a very productive VBS and a lot of new prospects that came out of it. We also had a young man named Shane Swanson as our youth intern, and I hope we can hang onto him at least through December. I have no doubt that God is willing this, and I hope the membership of the church feels the same.

Grandpa got sick with his gall bladder and had it removed in July. He was weak enough that he had to be sent to Heritage Hall for rehab and he doesn't like that much. On the plus side I get to see him more often, and am learning a lot from him about different aspects of his life. This is a precious time for me, and him too. I cannot be sad that this came about since it has given us time to spend together without any distractions. Its like that verse in Psalms, I believe, about how God restored time that was lost to the locusts, I am getting precious time in with Gramps, and he is enjoying being with me. He says I am a good girl, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him!

Work will be interesting, I still don't know if I will be fully staffed, and I have not met the new principal yet, but hey, its all good. I have about 18 months of school left, and I am starting to investigate career options. It would be great to be in a different place in two years, I can't wait to see what God has in mind. With a lot of prayer and discernment I can maybe figure it out!

I am toying with the idea of going into DC this week, my next paper in History is on the Holocaust. A visit to the museum would be benficial, but also difficult as well. I am so glad I cannot fathom the evil that infected his mind, and for all those people who say they don't understand I for one don't want to understand that kind of evil.

I have Bella on my lap and a paper to write for the first timeline of this class. It's from the start of the Great War through World War II and writing anything with a mini doxie on my lap is quite the challenge. At least I know where she is and what she is up to!!
