Pictures from the P-Nats game on August 8, 2009

Stephanie and I had the chance to go see a game, it was supposed to be Jim and I but he had a business opportunity he didn't want to pass up. We had a good time, and though the game was a victory for the Nationals, Drew didn't get a chance to pitch. However, we were able to snap a quick shot of him and some various shots from around the stadium. The fireworks after the game were amazing, and some of the best I have seen in a while.

God is Awesome

This past week has been a roller coaster for me, from the depths of despair to the heights of joy. The one thing I know through it all is God is faithful, and He is in control. He knows the hairs on my head, and He knows what I need before I do. He wants the best for me, yet He allows me free will to make my own choice. This past weekend at Women of Faith I came face to face with my Redeemer, and I will never be the same. You cannot be in the presence of God and not be changed. I know without a doubt He will deliver me from the mess that is my life, and He will bring beauty as a result. I claim all His promises as my own, because I know I can trust Him with everything. He will never leave me or forsake me, and nothing can take me from His hand. His ways aren't my ways, and I am so thankful! If only I could stay out of His way and not mess it up, but that is the human condition. I am so used to doing my thing, not bothering anyone, and generally getting into fixes that can only be salvaged by divine power. I have His word, the Bible, and yet I act amazed when He responds to a heartful cry! Why do we doubt Him and His ability? Why don't we claim the promise, and pray expecting Him to answer. Of course, He may not answer the way we want, but with maturity we can learn to accept that, and yes, be grateful. It is a privilege to serve the mighty God of the universe, and yet sometimes I am ashamed, afraid, who knows what, to mention His name to someone who needs a word of encouragement? Shame on me, and Father forgive me, and please keep giving me divine appointments and the words I need to make Your presence known to those around me. Thank you for this weekend, for the events that You orchestrated to make it all possible, and for once again, taking this broken woman and restoring her to a fellowship with you. It is all about you, Jesus, and may it never be about me. I love you!
